Hi all.

Went to my local lfs to get a new male guppy and noticed a plec i have never seen before so i reckoned the great minds on tff would be able to help ID it  .

I sadly dont have a picture as didnt have time.

It was around the four inch mark jet black with many little white dots all over its body on its nose it had many bristles and it had a large dorsal fin and tail fin if that is any help lol it was being sold for £40 yet it had no name  so i am not sure whether it was a bargain or not.

Cheers guys :good:

black with little white dots could be a peppermint bristlenose, no idea what the scientific name is sorry. Check out planet catfish for pics.

It wasnt a bristlenose as i have one and it in no way looked like one.
Have been on planet catfish but couldnt find anything.

Are you sure it wasn't a peppermint or starry night? Check pictures of L-183 an L-184.

I now beleive it to be a L183 cheers guys how much do these guys ususally go for ??

not doubting but if they have an L183 it'll be unusual - I've got some but it took me 3 years to get hold of some...

more likely its an L182 or similar. I was selling 2" juviniles for £10 when I was breeding them.
But I saw adults from £25 upto £40
