Plec Id Required Please

Does any one know at what age the male L183, Starlight Bristlenose plec starts to grow the soft tentacles on its head, none of mine show any signs of this so im kinda guessing they may be all females ????

anything bigger than 2" and you should be able to easily sex them :)

Do you need a male then? :) :)

ah i see, all 4 of mine are at least 3.5 to 4 inches from head to tail, looks like i have 4 females then as they are only showing tentacles by the mouth, nothing at all on the actual head area :( ............ so in answer to your question smithrc  i do need a male :)

BUT - I'm sure the 3 of us could sort something out...

unfortinately it is a long long way from me :(, i did notice the advert and hes exactly what i want

I've got the stuff to post him though - And Andy's not that far from me :)

IF you did want him - I'm sure we could work it out :)

4 on 1, gotta love that ratio for any male ;)

He'll have to get them all in sync or he'll never come out of his cave :D :D

i popped to the lfs that i bought my 4 plecs from originally. They had loads of the one i thought was a starlight but they were all female not a single male :/ and the owner couldnt give me much info on them except that they were Ancistrus SP which doesnt really help me

but they did have a male there that looked very similar to my L088 so i purchased him, will post pics tonight and hopefully someone can confirm if they are the same species, fingers crossed they are or i now have 3 females of one species, i female of another species and then a male of a different species again :S

Now ive taken some pics and seen them togehter for the first time im not so sure they are L088
