hi all my first post so please bear with me!!
i have a couple of plecs which have recently started breeding! i was amazed to find a small pot full of little yellow eggs,so being the what i thought best option i decicded to move the babys a couple of days later,(so they wouldnt get eaten..) so set up a small tank, little bit of sand covering the base, pump, heater, light etc,and transferred the pot of kids, into tank,no problem, approx 35 littleuns, all thriving and hanging around the inlet, stuck to the side of the tank.
but to my dissmay its been over a week now and i did expect to lose a couple but sun morn approx 20 dead, and this morn approx 10 dead i can only now count 2 alive, and these look ok ish,
i did try to feed them with some very fine flake, done a small water change approx 5 litrs, but a week earlier they were fine and now total devastation, could anyone tell me what i have done wrong please??
im really dissapointed with myself never thoiught i could/would lose so many in such a short space of time.
sorry im a bit 'green' on names, please bear with me!!
thanks in advance

First sorry for the loss :-(
The tank you set up for the fry was it cycled?
Have you done a water test
as in pumped round yes it was,i didnt test the water ,i set it up and and used a approx 10-15ltrs of the original tank water in the new tank over 1/2 the volume,of the new tank, then left it to 'run' for 36 hours, introduced the fry after 2 days ,what bothers me is that they seemed fine for a week then within a 24/36 hour period, something major has happened.

Ok then that could be your problem.
The filter in the new tank didnt have the Beneficial Bacteria.
cycle new tank
check that link out for help.
the tank has to be set up for a long time before adding fish.
