I've known this plec for nigh on three years, he came to us a couple of months ago along with the tank we inherited. Not sure what kind of plec he is, but he's probably 3 years plus old, around four to five inches in length. I was told he was a common plec but again have no real idea.
He's always been pretty active during lights on hours, despite plecs' nocturnal rep. He's always been very territorial over his food, ie he'll 'dive bomb' the corys to get to it!
However the past two days he's just been sat under the bogwood, despite us trying to tempt him out with catfish pellets after lights out. He's been in the same position. He's still alive but it's only his eye and mouth movements that tell us that. We put a brine shrimp cube in the tank earlier, it sank to the bottom in one lump and we tend to find that if we don't break it up it'll just stay there, so normally we'll just swirl the handle end of the net around to send the shrimps up and within fish eating range, which will make him go off to one of the little caves I've constructed for him. He didn't even react to that.
There's no sign of any white spot, fungus or anything. There's nothing really to say there's anything 'wrong', he's just not himself.
Any ideas?
