... iv got a Aqua One 320 and im wanting to convert it in to a nano tank,

I want to see how on nano tanks the filter works! as im wanting to make a flase backplate and use it as a filter (just like on a nano tank)

Or is it not worth the hassle cos the nano filters are just poo in the 1st place??? shud i just use a extnal filter???

live rock and sera external with only sponge in it which is cleaned weekly to stop the bacteria growth

Ive also got an aqua start 320 as a nano marine, and I use live rock (5kgs) as the filtration. Ive also used the tank for freshwater tropical and just used the mini filter included, its always been fine with 20% water changes weekly.

You just use 5kg of liverock to filter ur water? and weekley water changes!!

What you keep in yours? did you change ur lighting? got any pics of it! really intrested! i did keep mine for tropical but got board and just kept the tank

In some tanks I use a corner sponge filter run off an airpump. I also have a couple of airstones in the tank for water movement. One tank has an Aquaclear 70 HOB filter. Another tank has an Aqauclear Powerhead with a quickfilter attachment. I have taken out the white filter in the Quickfilter and replaced it with a green sponge from an Aquarius internal power filter.

I've got an Aquastart 500 and I use lievrock, there is a filter in there but I'll be using it just to keep the water crystal clear and to add things like carbon, rowaphos etc

Are hob filter/skimmers good? was looking at getting one for mine just as extra filtering !!

the Aquaclear HOB filters are very good. They are simple to use, easy to clean and very reliable. I don't know about HOB skimmers coz I don't use them.
