My mom's Betta is pretty old, and looks as if he is dying. He stays at the top and looks VERY VERY bloated and not active. He has been like this for WEEKS, how do I help him?

Please let me know what to do, thank you very much,
Kealey

Being bloated and staying near the top could be the symptoms of swim bladder or constipation. You could try fasting him for 3 days and then feed him a shelled cooked pea. Cook it to get it soft and then squeeze it out of the hull. How old is he? The average life span for bettas is only 2 to 5 years depending on the conditions they are kept in.
