I do water changes every week. I don’t recall where I’ve heard or read that prime can’t kill fish if overused. Ok so today is my water change day, & I’ve just added Double salt (counting what I put in yesterday) so now my next step would be to do a big water change, then add the salt that was removed?
Don’t add the salt for now, it’s not needed

There is a thread on here last week that had it. Seachem Prime can cause problems is massively overdosed. I haven't tested it myself or seen Seachem's data, and don't know if they even tested it.

If the guppies are dying, salt might slow or stop the process. But pictures of the fish would help a lot.

Salt can also reduce the damage caused by nitrite poisoning. Although big water changes get rid of the nitrite too. :)

The main thing is solving the immediate problem of dying fish, and others as well as myself have offered some provisions that understandably probably need some detail. I don't want to derail things, so perhaps you could follow Colin's advice, he has considerable experience in this area that I know I do not, when it comes to specific health issues. He would like to see photos of the problem guppy/guppies if you can.

I'd be happy to explain the very real danger using any substance including conditioners in excess.

Not for the nitrite spike? Then I’ll have to dump the water again. What about nitrates? Shouldn’t there be some?
Go ahead and follow Colin’s instructions, he’s more experienced in this regard. I just wouldn’t make a habit of long term salt use

No more salt until whatever’s going on clears up. I just did a 15% water change, & put back 1 tbs of salt. Another weird thing is there seems to be very small traces of nitrates & nitrites in my other tanks where the fish are fine. I’m totally baffled. I read somewhere online that some of these will be present in water, but not to exceed a certain amount. Is that wrong? I remember having a similar problem years ago, which was when I basically stopped getting the master test kit. It always said there were nitrates or nitrites, & I got disgusted. It was also suggested to me to get the trio med flakes for times I have an issue for no apparent reason. How many consecutive days must I do water changes now?

Colin, I do not see your post. I could use your advice!! I posted some pix, don’t know if they’re adequate. I’ll post more if needed. I do have a lot of guppy grass in my tanks, if that means anything.

Thank you both Colin & Juicebox!! As I said, I posted some pics, but one is on the bottom, so I can only get a pic of the other. They’re fast little buggers!
