Please HELP!

I’ve separated him from the others today so will see how he gets on from here.

I’ll check that place out online as am going to re do the tank next weekend, I’m going to get some bogwood in and lots of plants, hopefully when my guy is on the mend 🤞🏼

Thanks for the recommendation.
That sounds good - how is he doing today?

He still seems pretty miserable but the open pink part above his eye looks to of improved, his eye looks white and fluffy though so just hoping the meds do their thing?

The fish has excess mucous over the eye and part of the body. It's produced by the fish to help protect injured areas. If it sticks out and get white fluffy bits, that is Saprolegnia fungus but the medication you are using should prevent that.

Just make sure you aren't overdosing with the medication because that can stress or kill them.

To work out the volume of water in the tank:
measure length x width x height in cm.
divide by 1000.
= volume in litres.

When you measure the height, measure from the top of the substrate to the top of the water level.

If you have big rocks or driftwood in the tank, remove these before measuring the height of the water level so you get a more accurate water volume.

You can use a permanent marker to draw a line on the tank at the water level and put down how many litres are in the tank at that level.

There is a calculator/ converter in the "FishForum.net Calculator" under "Useful Links" at the bottom of this page that will let you convert litres to gallons if you need it.

Remove carbon from the filter before treating with chemicals or it will adsorb the medication and stop it working. You do not need to remove the carbon if you use salt.

Increase surface turbulence/ aeration whenever using chemicals or salt to treat fish to maximise the dissolved oxygen in the water.
