Hi,
Is this a beard algae or staghorn algae?

Also I got this plant from Petco several weeks ago, what is it? Petco staff didn't know.It has lots of side roots and grows quite fast in my tank.

Many thanks in advance.

some info about my tank:
fresh water
29 gallon
65Walt light (6700k)
converted to planted tank for about 2 months)[/url]

Looks like staghorn to me.

I'm fairly sure that plant is non-aquatic. I wouldn't think it'll survive more than a few months in a tank. An easy test in 90% of cases is that if a plant is able to supports its own weight out of the water, it'll more than likely be non-aquatic. The common exception being some hygrophila species, as well as others. But its a useful guide.

As Sam says it looks like staghorn. Low CO2 is your likely problem.

If you want to keep your plant alive the best option is to take it out of the tank and put it in some compost in a pot on your window sill. You could try and take it back to the shop and tell them that you've been sold a house plant and that you want an aquatic plant.
