I recently added two clown loaches to my tank - about 3 weeks ago, they kind of disappeared - only coming out for view every so often (before they were around all the time) - then suddenly the bigger one disappeared, still havent seen him, but the small one we found dead on the bottom of the tank this morning - he has no visible signs of any parasite, and looks in good condition. I am treating the tank at the moment for white spot disease and wonder if this has anything to do with it. please help. (ps - have still not found the other clown loach)

Are you treating the tank for white spot because other tank mates have it? If so loaches can be sensitive to ick meds because they are scaleless. What size tank is it and what are your water specs?(ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, ph).

i just checked some of your other posts... so you have a 40g? If so I think that you may be a bit over stocked but I guess that depends on how old your fish are. I wouldn't be surprised if your water specs are spiking do to the bio load and some fish just can't handle it. If your fish are really small right now and you are not technically over stocked then you will be in the future. great excuse to buy another tank :)

Thanks - a new tank is on the shopping list - not quite at the moment, all fish are relatively small. All water tests are normal - I caught white spot in the very early stages, one rummy nose tetra and a couple of cardinals had spots - however I lost no fish through it, all spots have disappeared, and I have just stopped using the meds, so crossing my fingers.

Thanks for the advice.
