I noticed a little while ago that thses silverish tenticle looking things starting growing on my liverock..they now look orange and my 2 osc clownfish are now all over them..cleaning them and fertelizing them i guess..any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated...i really dont want to lose the fry..I have a domino demsel, sea urchin,bi-colour blenny and a reef lobster also in the tank, as well as button polyps and cabbage leather coral ...do any of these pose any threat to the fry?

A picture would be really helpful. Clownfish eggs are orange and they are attached to stalks, so chances are they spawned. Parents guard the eggs unless they are egg-eaters. Once they hatch, however, it's best to rear the fry in a separate tank. This is based on what I've read, I've never bred or kept clownfish.

I've not bred clowns but as far as I can tell, they are relatively "easy" (as opposed to most other marine fish :( ). Having said that, they don't breed like guppies either so: Well Done, You!!:good:
Personally, I'd try to keep the Domino, the lobster and the urchin away from the nest site (unsure about the blenny but probably him also) simply because they will eat whatever they find laying about and you'll either lose the eggs due to predation or 1 of your other inhabitants could get injured due to the parents defending their eggs or even the parents due to exhaustion from driving off too many intruders. Are you able to block off the part of your tank where the eggs are? Were your clowns wild-caught or captive-bred? Captive-bred creatures tend to be a bit more clueless about what they're supposed to do after the breeding part (my stupid Jewel Cichlids kept spawning but just lunched on the eggs later *sigh*) and can take a few goes to work it out. If yours fail this time, don't be too disheartened - they'r obviously happy in their surroundings and will likely try again.

The clowns were tank bred, Ive had them for about 2 years, and unfortunatly I wouldnt be able to block of the nesting area because of the position of the liverock. I'm also not able to transfer them to another tank because I do not have one. I plan on giving my demsel to a friend anyways so the only thing I feel might pose a threat is the urchin because he ventures everywhere in the tank. the reef lobster seems to always stay on the bottom of the tank so I dont think he will be a problem. I have a pic but it isint very clear at all because its a cheap camera. I'll borrow my sisters tomorrow and post a pic. thank you for the help..anymore advice would also be great.
