Platyfish

My water levels have been constant for the past few weeks at 0 nitrate, 0 nitrite, 0 ammonia, and 8 PH.
Without knowing other details of the tank I am wondering if the tank has lost its cycle or if something else is not quite right. I can see zero nitrite and ammonia as ideal, but, 0 nitrate in a tank that is months old doesn't seem correct without some other nitrate affecting process in the tank, i.e. super heavily planted, emergent plants. There should at least be a trace of nitrate in a tank this old.

What kind of water test are you using? What is your planted status in the aquarium? What is the water change amount weekly in % of total volume. The liquid tests are pretty good for Ammonia and Nitrite, but the Nitrate test is very particular especially with the agitation portion, the instructions don't emphasize how important it is to shake up the reagents for the nitrate test.

Wouldn't say nitrate is the cause but might indicate that the water parameter testing is suspect.
