Platy Pics!

Live plants? but of course :) Not sure about the size of that tank. it's quite an old one, and isn't in one of the official size thingys, you know what I mean :)
I've got both guppies and platies, and I'm beginning to wish I'd never got the guppies!! Throw in successful zebra danio breeding (see pic) and I'm going to have a bit of overcrowding on my hands... :)

I like live plants, but unfortunatly I don't like the smell. Some day I'll probably try them again, but for now my plastics will suffice. ;)

Sounds like you have the same problem I do. I think my tank is a 25 gallon, but I'm starting to seriously doubt that. I think it's a bit bigger like a 30. My boyfriend bought it for me at a rummage sale and the people thought it was a 25. *shrugs* Oh well. At least I have a tank. :kana:

Geez, you have a lot of babies. How many tanks do you have?

Two fairly small breeding tanks (see pic) (one cherry barbs and one zebra danios at the moment). The mystery size tank, and the newish 240 litre tank. And the goldfish :)
The zebra danios are about the right size now, and are slowly being introduced into the smaller community tank, and given to random friends with tropical fish tanks :)

Oh and tempestuousfury, I've been keeping a good close eye on my one platy female, and so far, she seems to be doing wonderful. I haven't seen her clamping her fins at all since yesterday, and she's finally going up to the top of the tank to eat the flake food...none of my platies have gone up to the top yet, they just wait for it to fall and catch it midwater. So, she was the first to be brave enough to deal with the insane danio feeding frenzy, lol!

Hey, at least the babies are going to good homes. ;) So, you are breeding cherry barbs as well? I'm not a big fan of those...I had a school of them in a previous tank and they pretty much terrorized all the other inhabitants and ate my baby platies. But then again, I was dumb at the time, and took the pet store owner's advice about barbs being friendly little fish.

I thought it was only tiger barbs that were evil. I wanted some of them, but couldn't for that reason. Our cherry barbs are getting on fine with the other occupants of the tank, and the eggs of the others are gradually hatching. Development in that tank can be followed here

I know about tiger barbs, but those cherrys wern't playing too nice either. Ah well. Thats in the past. I'm just not getting anymore barbs ever is all. Except for maybe those tinfoil barbs. Those things get huge! Really cool to watch. ;)

And the link didn't work, for some reason. It said page not found... :(
