Plattys & Guppys

I have been told by people of here and LFS that my guppys and plattys wont inture breed. But As soon as I mixed them together in my tank the male guppys and chasing the female plattys around the tank and the tipucal breeding things. What can I do... Will they actually breed. And what would the fry me like if they did ?

There have been cases of "pluppies" (when a platy and guppy breeds), but this is VERY rare. My platy, chases my guppy, but it's been 6 months and she isn't pregant. Hope this helps!

Hi CT this is not true, guppies and platies cant cross, their physically totally different.

guppies and mollies may cross and platies and swotrds may also cross but not between them.

So Im confused now lol... they cannot breed together but they will still chase the others round the tank ?
