Platinum Tetras...?

the thing is the lfs isnt so much of an lfs as its about a 40 minute drive away

so if i go for them ill have to get the whole group.....

i think my minds made up and im going back tomorrow to get a group of 10 :good:

they did look "naked" and not scaley as mentioned by wills and they were small and had a black dot just infront of the tail fin.... so im guessing that they are Hemigrammus rodwayi

ill try and get some pics when ive got them home :good:

Cool, how much are they in the fish shop?

Wow thats expensive for tetras, did all the tetras in the tanks have black spots?

it works out at £1.70 a fish so not that bad....

i paid £2 each for my cardinals and rummy noses i think or somewhere about that price! ive also looked at ember tetras yesterday and they were on offer at £6 for 3 so £2 a fish, which put me off a bit to be honest...

i think that these fish are worth the asking price, im going for a group of about 16 ish so they will look awesome in a tank the size of mine. hopefully

im off soon to get them so ill post pics of them in quarentine :good:

i came back with 17 of these little fellas :hyper: they seem to have settled in very well so far, ill get some pics later :good:

the last one was taken with a flash to try and show just how silver these fish actually are...

They look great :good:
They look alot better than i was expecting from the other pics ive seen of them.

Wow, they are so eye-catching . To me they look like Platinum Tetras not Gold Tetras.

they were labelled up as platinum tetras at lfs but after googling it i didn get anywhere, but after being informed that they were gold tetras they fit the bill. :good:

I`ve just seen this thread matt and have to say those tetras are gorgeous! B-)

I`m sorry if you`ve already mentioned in this thread but are they in with your shrimps? I ask because I was wondering whether or not to get a handful of small fish to go in my shrimp tank, (which also has 4 Assassin snails in, Arcadia 35L) but I`m just a bit wary as to whether or not my baby shrimps will get munched

Are the platinum tetras a 'common' fish that can be found in most lfs`?
