What does wag mean in platies. At a pet store it says wag on some of the platies including two of mine

Wag is just one of the names for a particular color variation of platys, like you can have "red wag" or "yellow wag" platys and indicates the black splodge on the tail, like you can have "mickey mouse" or "calico" or "sunset" platys etc etc...There are many, many color variations in platys to list a few and can all breed with each other .

Wag or wag-tail just means the platy has a black tail.
