Platies eat tetras?

Adolfoi's if I can find them (or persuade everyone to get ordering from the fish club - C'mon everyone you just know you want more fish ;) )

Well. Glasgow seems to be inundated with blue lobster at the mo.'. Neerly everyplace in PRW had them. the new place advertised in PFK's not too bad. By the time wee got into town my local was shut so we ended up going hunting for bears insread but Mac got a "tiger".
Tatya. I'm not usualy out Paisley road so not sure what stock they carry on a regular basis( apart from neons and guppies and the usual guff) but if you'r in Glasgow "the Aquarium" in chisholm street usualy has the green beasties in.

I'll be in on Sat, but unable to buy any fish! - grannie-in-law has her 80th birthday - although I do think surprise parties for 80 year olds are a very bad idea!

Anyway hubby now works in Glasgow & I'm sure he'll be willing to pick me some up on his way home one night

lol. even better. Sorry I didn't get down to the science centre. looks like a trip to St A's sometime. just lock up the electon microscope and the female students.lol
I'll check when he's got some in and let you know. they don't seem to last long in the shop. I'll be haveing a look in the lfs tommorow. I just broke my gravel vac so need a new one. looks like I'll be buying everyone a beer at some time.

Cool :) It'll be a least a couple of weeks till I can get them anyway - unless I do a super speedy fishless-cycle :)

I've done a few fishless cycleings and they either took longer than traditional cycling or too the same amount. Maybe it's just me.

Rose - like 6 weeks? Ouch! Glad my first one didn't last that long I was so impatient to get my first fish!

I put the first ammonia in the tank on Sunday and got a nitrite reading last night :) (okay it was only 0.1 but its a start  ;) )

The pH is dropping nicely with all of the wood too :)

I guess I need a nice longish cycle this time for the pH to have a chance to stabilise

The shop didn't have any green neons - it did have some cardinals though :D

Tx Feargal. not quite as vivid as I would have liked but I'll need to find some may look better in life.

Let me know if you find any.

I'd be interested to know if they look any better in real life.

Will do m8. I'm off to find a few thousand guppies t'morrow.

I have just read that the 'Gold' Neon is apparently a partial albino. I just wonder how this will affect the fish in terms of character/behaviour.

Good luck with the Guppies anyway.

Not my style though. Too fancy.

It's a footie thing. they nead to be vivid in colour for what I'm planing. as for the guppies no luck till saturday. I don't like livebearers myself.

feeder fish m8. lol good job Williams not here I'd be having a lot of fun right now.
I was asked to source some for someone.
