I need some help here if possible. I'd really like to have some floating plants in my aquarium for several reasons. However, I don't know if I'm really set up for live or not. Is there anyway I could get a floating plant that's plastic? Or maybe make one somehow (cut off the base or something)? When I went to the store I didn't know what I was looking for really, but didn't see anything I thought would work (in plastic). Doesn't look like they even make what I'm thinking of! Otherwise I guess I could spring for live... but do y'all think this would be ok with my fish and all? And what should I get as in kind? My pH is at about 7.4 or so, temp 78, medium water hardness. Thanks!!

I can't comment on the live plants because I don't use them. I got tired of having to have the lights on for a certain period of time etc. Besides, my cichlids would just kill the plants anyways. lol

I have plastic plants on top. I buy a long one and cut the base off and have it anchored by the glass setting on it. Looks great and the feeders go there and hide. It's cool watching Hatred go up there and try to find them.

You can get plastic floating plants.
I've got one
On the packet it says laguna then "protection roots" its made by hagen as a pond product but I use it in my tank.
Its designed as a spawning refuge.
But looks like a normal plant.
