I'm setting up a new tank and am wondering what is the best way of sticking on the plastic background. The one I have is like a poster with an under water scene on it and you put it on the outside of the tank ???

I just read a neat article on this - havent tried it yet....

They used PAM/vegetable spray and a stronge squeegee and a credit card. I guess if you do it right it goes on perfectly.

I've heard of spraying water.

I havent tried either way but my attempts at putting up a background always suck!!!! I'm trying the vegetable spray next time!

I'm looking forward to seeing the responses here.

So I just spray water on the glass,Spread my background over it ,squeegee it and trim off the excess ???

"Just applying a background by misting the back of your tank with water and smoothing the background on (using a credit card or, heaven forbid, a book!) can last years if you don't move the tank".

I haven't tried this yet so I hope other people provide input.

Don't do the vaseline one. I tried that smeared it over and now after 3 months it's all peeling off. Going to put an internal structured one now. The other thing is it reflected badly.
