hey guys!!im just wondering,is it better to leave the plants in the plastic case or take it out and plant them just with the wool stuff???i had another forum in the plants section but im not getting much response :/

Hi angel lover :)

By plastic case do you mean the little flower pots they sometimes come in? -_-

If so, I think you need to consider what you plan to do with them. If you want to plant them and leave them, then you could take them out and plant them in the gravel. (Take that wolly stuff off.) But, if you need to rearrange your tank often or if you have fish who like to uproot them, then just leave them in the little pots. The roots will be protected and they are more portable that way.

I'm just taking my houseplants indoors for the winter and have noticed that, while the ones I've put into the soil have grown well, the ones I left in pots did pretty well, too. I think it would be the same with aquarium plants, too

Hello!

I had the same question myself a few months back, and after a little experimenting I found that my anubias and cryptocoryne (i think) grow quite vigorously out of the pot and in my rough gravel. Of course, I also have full-spectrum lighting, CO2 tablets, and fertilizer to promote growth. It's great fun and very satisfying to see both my cichlids and plants grow and prosper together. Good luck to you!

Hi, Abernathy :)

It must be nice, indeed, to see that both fish and plants thrive under your care. Is all the fertilizer and CO2 necessary to grow an anubais? I've had one for a long time and it isn't growing or dying. It just stays the same. Any advice on this? :look:

That would be a good idea, angel lover. :)

I know there are some people on this forum that know a great deal about plants. Keeping a beautiful planted aquarium is an art in itself.
