Hey! :)
I have a fish tank with plastic plants in it. But, they do not look very good and when algae get on them, its like impossible to clean... i have to rub every single leaf.
So i was thinking about buying LIVE PLANTS! :hyper: However, I have some questions:

> Are live plants harder to keep than plastic ones? and if yes, how?
> Do I need some additives for the plants?
> Will my tank go green because of plants?
> Are there algae treaments for tanks? and if yes, which one would you recommend?
+ Could you please post some pics of live plants that look good and i will be able to get them in the store?

????
It would be great if you could answer at least one of my questions! Thanks in advance! :D

> Are live plants harder to keep than plastic ones? and if yes, how?

Yes!! plastic plants dont die :p they just get dirty. live plants need a whole lot of things to survive :)

> Do I need some additives for the plants?

yes you will, fertilizers.

> Will my tank go green because of plants?

yes and no. If you take care of your tank properly it will not go green, (algae causes green water and the greening of the glass sides) and of you take care of your tank properly the plants will become so green :)

> Are there algae treaments for tanks? and if yes, which one would you recommend?

none, it is always best to balance your tank to prevent algae

+ Could you please post some pics of live plants that look good and i will be able to get them in the store?

www.tropica.com,
www.plantgeek.net :)

availability depends on your location

*also read the sticky posts on the planted tank section, they will provide you with a good idea on how to take care of plants :)
