Hi there, a really basic question which I am most embarassed about. My plants keep escaping especially the one planted in the sand. The two planted in the gravel do hang on a bit better. I have seen in Pets at Home they have wee terracotta weights to house the plants and keep them submerged, but they don't stock them for general public. I am looking for something decorative like that or an idea of what I can attach them to keep them in place. I have looked at some of the pinned topics and someone was using blue plastic with holes in. Any suggestions? Thanx Xanthe

Nothing wrong with the question at all, I usually plant them sideways that gives them a better hold until they root. Plants that don’t have real roots, I cut a small piece of those lead plant weights and wrap it around individual stems so that it doesn’t bruise the stem and hide it in the sand. You could also do that until a plant that does produce roots anchors itself.

Cheers. When you say plant them sideways, is that so there is more of the stem under the sand and or gravel. Then these can grow new roots as well. Thanx Xanthe
