they keep GROWING, obviously, but at this rate I will have a hedge in my tank, every morning I come downstairs and it's like another inch long, I will be changing the water on sunday, should i give them a trim or what??

You're lucky to have such luxuriant plant growth! I would definitely trim plants; it really is the same principle as trimming an overgrowing hedge.

Depending on the type of plant you have, you could try to propagate them with cuttings, if you were interested in doing some aquascaping :) By this I mean you could cut the tops off of some of your plants and replant the tops next to the plant you've just trimmed. This can form a nice thick bunch and IMO looks quite attractive. Some plants do not propagate readily by cuttings though.

What sort of plant, tank, and lighting do you have? It's great that it's growing as you watch! I let my plants grow to the top and then stretch along it before I trim them. I cut them in half and plant the cuttings. It hasn't failed for me yet. Also, if the planst are in good shape, some LFS' will but them off you or trade for in-store credit. This is something I'm looking to do once I get my algae under control.

I'm so envious
I've got a post asking why my plants keep dying and you've got one asking why they won't stop.
WHat do you do? i'd love to know. What light do you have, I want one. Do you use vitamins for them? do you cypon the stones?
I'd love to know how to make mine grow so much!
What's your secret???
:D
