Just want to show you guys this outdoor bucket I set up a few months ago. It isn’t the best looking one but still do I think. The plants includes; Echinodorus ‘Rosé’, Echinodorus uruguayensis, Alocasia cucullata, Lepironia articulata, and another Sedge species that grow submerged underwater. During the afternoon, it exposed to direct sunlight which causes the water temperature to reaches 40C (or less, my Thermometer isn’t that great) and surprisingly the plants, ostracods and insect larvae survive and thrive.

How often do you have to pull the clumps of green algae out :)
I used to remove it weekly and have to check it for fish and shrimp because they got caught up in it when I pulled it out of the water.

I never done it. Also this is an old photo, I’ll take new one tomorrow.

Here’s an update on my Mini wetland. There are tree frog tadpoles everywhere now and plants grow a lot. Plants: Echinodorus ‘Rosé’,E. uruguayensis, Commelinaceae sp., Cyperus difformis, C. malaccensis, Lepironia articulata, Rotala rotundifolia and Limnophila rugosa.
