I've got a tiny bit of whitespot on a couple of fish - is the normal Interpet Whitespot Treatment OK to use with plants in there? I think I've read somewhere that one of these medicines harm the plants.

I've raised the temperature slightly too.

Simon.

I've got the same problem too...seems like still nobody answering me .... Though I guess maybe even it's harmful to plants. At least fishes will get better in health which is more important right?...

Sime, may I ask will you put your hand inside your tank if it's already with medicine of whitespot treatment inside the water? They harmful to us?

Since you will only be dosing for a little while, your plants should be ok. They won't all die instantly. You may notice a few of them looking a little off, but once you stop the meds and do a big water change they should bounce back

I have never worried about my hand in medicated water. I'm still in there all the time. Just make sure you wash your hands well afterwards.

i treated once a few years back with a proper medicine and had no problems putting my hands in with the tratment in - i tend to keep hands out though as much as possible, dont think i realy touched it apart from getting splashed a little doing a water change.

thanks canoechiq - didnt see your reply there. i'll try it then if worst comes to the worst.

im going to try the natural riase temperature method first - theres hardly any soi may catch it well in advance - just a thought but is treatment better than salt for the plants?

I have never used salt for white spot... I don't use it at all actually becuase I have cories in the tank, and salt is bad for corries

OK thanks for the help - I've added it, best to catch it now as it's early and it sholdnt need treating much then.

Fingers crossed plants are OK as I wanted to take some snaps of my riccia

I have also asked which medicines are better for a plant tank... Seems like I will use malachite green base rather than Methylene Blue base

The only reason I am worrying about putting hands inside water that undergoing whitespots treatment is that because I've bought 2 sherb of Ceratophyllum demersum as well as few more Egeria densa... I am sure there were snails on them so they are dipping "snail stops" before I add them into tank.

I don't want to add them now since it's too early to put inside the tank (and were thinking the treatment might harm them, though, I don't think it's good idea to wait 4 days+ before those new plants added into tank too :/

Salt bad for cories?

Sime :), Fingers crossed for your plants as well as mine :p

Adding Sera, Constapur now...

Sime, one more thing, Your fish tank and fish looks very nice

Thanks, thats a very very old setup though I'l post new ones as soon as it all clears up.
