What are you feeding these fish and how often? I think they are bored, algae discs are always a good idea with Cichlids they give them something to play with.

I feed them a variety of about 5 or 6 different dry foods twice a day and also frozen food every 4 days. Hand feed prawns every 4-5 days also

Yeah mix of mbuna and peacock, that’s why I alternate between veg and meat diet

if you have duckweed in the tank the mbuna can eat that and will be less likely to chew on the other plants

Okay I remember you saying this in another thread but I’ll ask anyway,

Grow the duckweed in a separate container outside?

If the fish are greedy, yes grow the duckweed outside if you can or in other tanks and transfer some across each week.
