Planting Advice

what do i suggest for what? lol

I have got 3 large bits of wood from the garden center and a few plants.

The wood is soaking at the moment and doesn't seem to be discolouring the water, so they will probably go in the tank this evening.
I'm not sure what the plants are, they were the only ones that looked like they weren't dying in the tank in the shop and i got them for free.

I will post back in a week when more plants are in the tank.

oh sorry lol, i don't know whether I'm coming or going today...the wife thinks she may be in the first stages of labor. For me the best trace is normal Flourish, brilliant value for money and contains everything trace wise.

Thanks i will order some of that later on.

I also got 10 rummy nose tetra while shopping

he has a duty as a mod to be on here as much as possible, birth or no birth

So just flourish will be fine then?

Thanks. :)

It's only first stage...i mean that's like stubbing you toe or something!

So just flourish will be fine then?

Yes that will be fine for Gavo's tank, are you talking about your own tank?

Yeah talking about mine. Would i need something else?

And yes, stubbing your toe would be more painful i reckon. Stubbing your toe would probably be more like full on labour i think...

yeah, but the pain isn't as bad as you're gonna think it is.

So you have the 400, with the same lighting. Then just using a normal trace should be fine. :good:

Your tank is a little more tricky...personally, i would use some liquid carbon and some TPN+ in there unless you was going to go down the pressurised route. You have High output bulbs, this is the only reason i'd go down the carbon route in your tank.

I have
1. Added 3 large bits of driftwood.
2. Added new T5 daylight lamps and reflectors.
3. Added various plants and 2 large moss balls.
4. Removed the P4 internal filter that was used to cycle the tank.

I dose with 2 cap fulls of Flourish Excel each day.
I'm doing about 20% water change daily until the tannins slows down some more, but have ordered SEACHEM Purigen 500ml to take care of the rest.

I haven't got the hang of taking pictures yet, my camera doesn't seem good on any manual setting.

Does this look ok for just adding trace elements?

I will be buying some more plants tomorrow and dont want them all to end up dead :X
