I FOUND THAT WITH PLANTS YOU MUST WASH THEM BEFORE YOU PLANT AS THIS WILL GET RID OF ANY TRACE OF SNAILS. AND PUT THEM IN THE GRAVEL I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH PLANTS JUST GET RID OF THE DEAD BITS AS THEY COME OFF. PLANTS ARE THE EASY BIT I THINK.

You can't post because you haven't yet validated your account. Look for the e-mail with the link in your bulk mail folder if you haven't yet recieved it. And if you still don't recieve one set-up an account with Yahoo and register again.

Then someone else can help you read all the links at the top of the planted tank section.

You need to know all about
CO2
fertilizers
proper lighting
and plants.

shrimps are excelent cleaners but really you have to do most of the work yourself.

And this is not really true. The advice will give you plants for a few weeks after you buy them but will not let plants flourish or create a tank like you describe. And it is one of the hardest bits to get right.

If you really want to get into planted tank, check out gf225's stickies in the planted tank section. He covers everything from lighting, to algae, to fertilizer, and c02.
