I'm going to remove the large amazon swords on the right of the tank, as they take up too much room and make the tank look small. Replace with more wood and smaller leaved plants.
Hopefully in 6 months it will be complete and look better(I'm lazy so my tanks take time to look good) :good:
I want to add 7 wild Discus(Heckles or greens) or possibly Altum Angels to complete the stocking.

Dave

Nice tank, but if you're going to add discus then remove the neons as they'll be food eventually. How many gallons is the tank??

That is really nice. What is the carpeting plant you have next to the "path"?

They are Cardinals, I am worried about adding large Discus as the Cardinals may become an expensive meal. However many people have these two fish living together with little problems. Its a 125 ukg tank

Thanks. The plant is pogostemon helferi

Cardinals, Neons, look almost identical in a picture lol, but like I said be carful, mabye once the plants grow some more the cardinals will be smart enough to hide so the Discus won't be a problem :) Hopfully :)

Your tank looks really great. The P. Helferi looks very good. When I had discus and altum angels, they never bothered the cardinals. They shared the tank for years, once the cardinals reach their adult size they are fine with discus but an angel would take an undersized one.
Beautiful tank it would look great with natural coloured discus and or altums.

Love the tank, ive seen that path through the middle approach before and youve done a really good job of it. How much did all those plants cost you though? Even in the first picture you have quite alot and thats a 125 gallon tank, must have cost a few quid, especially stuff like that pogostemon helferi.

lovely tank, nice plants, substrate and fish :)

I may have to try the path idea in my 2ft tank :good:

Awesome tank!

Thanks m8

Haha yeah they are similar, I know what your saying bruv, I will be praying for my lovely lill Cardinals when I add the Discus.
There is a risk. Altums are out as I have spoke to an experienced bloke and he knows for a fact that they love to eat Cards/Rummynose.

Thanks for your comments Liam, I cant wait to add some wild discus to this setup.

Thanks Milkster, I like the path also but I feel its too straight I'm going to add more of a curve to it- hopefully it will look slightly better. Regarding the cost of plants- I bought a Selection pack from Greenline cost about £25-30 cant remember. I got the pogostemon helferi from Tropica cost £5 for a smallish amount-Its just grown into the amount you see in the tank.

Nice tank looking gr8.

Very nice tank.

Thanks Paul

Cheers Slakey, the path works ok in this tank. I like the Java moss to the left of the path- looks like a bush. I look forward to seeing your tank, pics are a must!

I have just found some wild Heckles and hopefully will be getting them sometime next week :hyper: They will grow out in my 60 gallon bare bottom tank for a year then will be added to this tank. I'm really excited about their arrival wish me luck in acclimating them! :good:
