Planted Betta Tank

Idk but he sure seemed excited to be in the tank he was swimming everywhere and checking it all out

Been busy but got a few somewhat blurry pics of Dexter today.
He's doing much better then when I got him he has got a much nicer bright red to him and is so active he's pretty happy to be out of that cup lol.

Sorry for the blur he doesn't stop moving now he's always begging for food or checking out his turf lol

I had to rescape his tank after he got stuck behind a rock but the bright side is before getting stuck he wouldn't eat a thing I tried to give him now he scarfs done his betta pellets and goes totaly nuts for shrimp.

And the one pic I could get while he stoped to look at me with what I assume is a frown because I wasn't feeding him.

You should start teaching him tricks, Things like come, follow my finger, Take food from my finger, and reward him with a pellet. When you can do that then teach him to swim onto your hand using food as a reward. Getting him used to your hand makes it easier if you ever have to catch him, And reduces his stress if you have do work in the tank. But this can also be a pain, If you are doing work in the tank you have to keep an eye on the fish when moving stuff or cleaning the glass.

When I clean the glass in the tank, All you can hear in my house is " Get out of the way dopey " every few seconds.

Yeah I might try to teach him some stuff we will see :)

Sorry it's taken me a while to do an update on this but been super busy with the reef tank.
I've added a ton of new plants and got a deal at my LFS for 12 baby neon tetras out of which about 10 have survived but they are doing great and getting along with the betta fantastically.
I'm still looking for shrimp to add but hopefully I will find some soon.

Sadly my betta jumped to his death about a week ago so now it's just the neon tetras but the plants are doing great.
