Hi all,

I'm really hoping to get people's advice and opinions on what plants I should put in my tank, and where in the tank they should go. This is what I currently have:

I definitely like Hemianthis Callitrichoides as a carpet plant and although I appreciate it is hard work I want to jump in the deep end and give it a go. I don't have pressurised CO2 but I have purchased Aqua Essentials Aqua Carbon, Aqua Nourish and Aqua Nourish+.

I don't really like plants like long straight leave plants like Vallis, I prefer more rounded leaves like Anubias have.

Any help greatly appreciated as I don't really know where to start.

Cheers

Tom.

That piece of wood is just crying out for some Anubias, mind you I'm a huge fan of Anubias. I even managed to get hold some giant Anubias which is growing in to a real focal point. Some moss would look nice on the wood as well. Crypts are good too as you can get big crypts and ones that stay really small as well which makes quite a nice contrast. I have one crypt that has gone a really lovely dark reddish colour which contrasts really well with the green of the Anubias. But, that's just my opinion :D One day I'll get some reasonable pics to post.

Thanks for the advice delta, I've ordered the following initial plants today from Aqua Essentials:

Anubias Nana Bonsai to go on the driftwood
Crypt Nevellii as a foreground plant
Echinodorus Rose as a background plant to hopefully hide the filter

I'll get these in the tank then order some more.

Cheers

Tom.

Lol...don't expect too much these will be the first plants I've ever put in a tank.
