Hello! I just got some plants and would like to know id, I think they are limnophila and hornwort but im not sure what specific type of hornwort it is

The hornwort is quite thick and crispy compared to normal hornwort

Limnophila sessiliflora and hornwort (there's only one kind of hornwort).

The hornwort can grow hard and crispy like that when it goes dormant (typically in colder temperatures, especially if it dips below 60F). If it was farmed outdoors somewhere temperate, this is fairly normal to happen. It should come back and grow more fluffy in time

Thank you! I’m glad it’s limnophila, was told it was water sprite lol and I didn’t believe that

That’s interesting, my tank is like 69-71 constantly, and all the hornwort there is new growth.

I originally found a sprig in my local river and grew it in my pond outside in summer, which is constantly very warm ranging from like 70-100 degrees constantly, and it took on the plump crispy look
