hello all
I think I have a Java Moss plant and it got algae on it can somebody tell me how can I take it off because a tried removing it by hand but the plant comes whit it, its very fragile, any ideas ??
the only thing I can think is getting a part of the plant that does not have algae and separate it and start from zero. is that the only way or is there any better ideas??

thanks for the help.

What colour is the algae that is stuck to the plant?

I've come across a website where it was said that java moss growth is at it's best if the plant is planted sparingly rather than being in a large clump. So it wouldn't hurt to throw the algae-infested parts away but the response to this will be that the plant will take a while to start growing again until It re-attaches to another piece of bog wood etc.
