cleaning won't be much of a problem since i recently received a python water change system from my grandparents so now from every two weeks, i can clean weekly. thanks alot to you both and merry christmas!Planaria live in the substrate in every fresh water aquarium or pond. They feed on organic matter like uneaten food, dead fish, dead plants etc. They also eat fish eggs.
When you feed fish you should only offer a little bit of food and the fish should eat it all within a few seconds. Then offer a little bit more and they should eat that straight away. Keep offering small amounts of food and let it get eaten. When the fish are no longer racing over to the food then stop feeding them.
If you see lots of worms crawling over the glass, it is an indication there is something wrong with the water that has driven them out of the substrate, usually poor water quality or chemicals from medications.
The easiest way to control them is by limiting uneaten food in the tank and doing regular tank maintenance (gravel cleaning, water changes & filter cleaning).
