Hi

I think I might have planaria in my tank because there were these tiny white things attached to the front of the tank swaying - looks like hairs about 1cm length, however i also noticed just 1 really thin small white worm as well about 1 inch long kind of wiggling thru the water it looked different to the planaria. - this morning it was on the glass and it was crawling across the glass
i tried to get it out but it floated away.

any ideas what this is? there was just one.

:) it does sound like planaria. they live in the gravel and are harmless if unsightly. i think its because of overfeeding your fish that they start to multiply. do you use a gravel cleaner when you do a water change?

Hi

yes i do use a gravel cleaner but sometimes food sinks to the bottom.. they are not very fast eaters..

i would personally back off feeding your fish for a week , and in the process do a good tank clean up , ie water changes and hoover the gravel , but not too much to kill the bacteria if you have an undergravel . If you dont have a U/G filter give the substrate a good cleaning
