I have just purchased an Aqua Oak 275l Tank with 75l sump. The previous owner for some reason has sawn off the tank connector which houses the outlet pipe. The hole in the tank is 40mm so I purchased a 40mm tank connector / bulkhead. Its too big. A 40mm pipe its into the hole with a mm or two gap. has anyone got any suggestions how i could possibly seal the pipe wthout using a tank connector. I am wary of just using silicone.

Thanks

Have you tried an adapter or a joiner to go in the hole?
Normally they put a threaded joiner in the hole and stick a piece of pvp pipe in the top of that. They screw another joiner onto the bottom part, which drains to the sump. The joiners normally get siliconed onto the glass.
