Would be nice maybe, but I dont think this forum gets enough pike related talk to warrant one.
I dont see the point, there is no demand for it. New forums are only created to stop on forum from being overwhelmed by threads on a single topic.
Also this post sould be in the Board announcements and suggestions forum.
I know this is a fish keeping forum, but I use to fish for pike. Great sport, although nasty teeth.
Really? Freshwater fish, can grow in excess of 40lbs, streamline, superb hunter. Olive colour with white-ish belly and brown/reddish fins and gold/tan-ish (thats a lot of ishs) spots along it's body??
so your saying to split up the new world forum would be trashy? i think it would be easier to navigate. when you have a forum for one specific thing people get better answers. if you had a forum for oscars angels and so forth you wouldnt get as many mixed answers. a far as the moding part...i doubt there are many people on here who could teach me something about crenicichla. not saying there isnt more for me to learn, just saying i try to keep my self on top of the game when it comes to pikes. im sorry not for arguments sake, but i totally disagree. i love this site but there is always room for improvment. i think it would make answers more accessble due to the focused attention on that one forum. to have all new world cichlids in one place is so vague. it must be hard to moderate something so vast. there is no end to it. just dropping an opinion. i mean what the heck right...its all in good fun.i think there should be a pike section. anyone else agree? i could moderate.
Off the top of my head, without researching topics and posts, a pike subforum is way behind oscars, angels, discus, dwarf species such as apistos & rams, and probably several others. If you have ever seen a forum with loads of sub forums it is difficult to navigate, and just looks plain trashy as well. If the owner of this site wanted trashy it would have gone overboard with sub forums long ago. The owner wants an easy to navigate forum, that means no trash.
Moderators are chosen by the owner of this site, William, who is also the administrator. It is not a spur of the moment decision, it is a process where input from the moderating team is taken into account. Previous post history as far as aquatics knowledge, maturity, level headedness, and a long term track record of assisting this forum also adds in. If any of this is missing, or weak, the odds of being a moderator is a real long shot.

and cheers to you william for a great site!!
also i dont mean to be a jerk by any means but i could show you another forum that is like how i said. i know everyones response is going to be "well then go on that forum." and i do. i just believe that the people there are more concerned with being better than the next person.
