I was just trying to say that depending on your tank (you might have had it set up with other fish) different pikes would be better suited. Or none at all if you had incompatible fish.
A pair of regani would be fine in a 3ft tank. Ample room in the 4ft tank (though 1 pair only I would imagine due to their aggressive nature).
If you have had regani in the past and liked them I see no reason why you couldn't have them again. A planted dwarf pike tank sounds good to me. Another species if you can find it could be Crenicichla notophthalmus, which I think looks better than the regani - though I have never seen them for sale.
