I've posted a few pictures previously here, but recently the option to upload a photo seems to have vanished!?

Is it just me ??

If you use the regular "Add Reply" button, the image link is between the 2 "+" marks (insert link and insert emal link) under fonts. Using "Fast Reply" it is between the "+" and the emoticon button. You need a hosting site like photobucket or snapfish thought to post the photos on and then link to them in your thread.

I notice i could link them from externally, but previously i've uploaded a file directly. Has that option been removed?

Probably so. You aren't supposed to upload files directly because of the storage required except in certain sections like the fish profiles.
