Pictures Of My Betta's And Tank

Hi here's a few pic's of my tank and my betta's. this male is norman. does anyone know what type of betta it is? the lfs said its a siamese fighting fish.

here are 2 females i bought today, havn't got names for them yet, any suggestions? also does anyone know what type of betta they are?

Your male is called a Veil Tail. They're the most common pet shop betta, but still beautiful. As for your females, your brown-ish one looks stressed, that vertical line along her side indicates it, just thought I'd let you know, it's common when they first come home. As for the 30 gallon, that might be a bit much, most usually only need a 10 gallon because any bigger and most become stressed out, at least that's what I've heard, all you need for him is a 2.5 gallon and he'll be happy as pie.

the one you said is stressed ive had to take out she was in a 5g tank but she was biting the guppies i have in there
the males in the 30g tank he got on fine wiv the guppies when he was in wiv them
the other female is alright wiv the guppies ( at the mo )
how do i get her destressed and is she a she or he cos i didit think female bit guppies just males

A male betta has bright colors and long finnage, like Norman. An average female has more subdued colors and shorter fins than a male. You can also tell by looking if there is an ovipostor, it will be visible as a speck of white (looks like a large granule of pretzel salt) between her ventral fins.

She's probably just territorial, some females are. Guppies are fin nippers, so keep on eye on your male because the guppies might try and bite away his fins.

As for the stress, just give it a day or so and it should go away, if not there are medications found in most pet shops for it.

the male was moved to a 30g tank last wee but he go on fine wiv the guppies they didnt want to go near him

one other thing i never saw her go for the other female betta do they leave there own alone

i just though ( soory if thats spelled wrong ) that if the male did fine wiv them the females would but im going to get another tank for the females tomorrow idnt like any of my fish to get harmed
