With the videos you'll be able to see what I'm after, I just can't seem to get the plants to grow.
My levels are all good, just a little high in the alkaline and the nitrate is up just a touch, I think i'm almost cycled but for now I'm changing 10 to 15 gallons a day. Tanks cleared up great, no fish have died in over a week, but all except the plants in the middle of the tank are dieing, hopefuly they'll start growing now that my levels are better.

any advice on the plants would be welcome

Please excuse the finger prints and smuges on the glass, this is in a kindergarden/1st grade classroom and the children get all over the tanks.

Not enough light i suspect Bryan, those plants in the middle dont need alot so are surviving ok.

What tank size is it and how many watts lighting do you have?

Cool! What are those bubbly things at the bottom? They are awesome. ;)
I also want to know what that is . . . If it ain't for CO2 purpouses, I'd take it out-- extra surface disruption causes CO2 to be released from the water. If that is for CO2, get a diffuser to make the bubble smaller.

The lighting should definitely be ample so . . . -_-

My plants have never needed heating either so that's not a concern . . .

Have you played around with ferts yet?

It's just regular air. I ran tubing under the sand in 2 spots for looks and to add oxygen.

like i mentioned it's just air. I try to get it so it barly bubles but for some reason it stops after a few hours so I open the valve up more then it gets to be full flow. I'll try and slow it down. I've never had plant problem in other tank with the air bubbles, but that could have just been good luck. My goal is to have like one air bubble about every 1/2 second, that give the tank a really good look.

I really like the black background, is it painted? :fish:

yea, i spray painted it black, sides too. by painting the sides it eliminates the mirror like reflection you get.
