Picture Of My Reef :)

Hi Alex,

i used to have the same problem with the sand going brown, detrius etc. In mine i now have 3 Blue Cheek Goby's, they turn the sand over quite regularly and are also a real joy to watch !!!

Looking at the rocks still, have you got them off the sand? i.e. using something like egg crate ?

Only ask as rocks sitting directly on the sand will only help to trap more crud, thus leading to possibly high nitrates..

Nice tank. Is that a longfin butterfly, or a moorish idol? If it's the latter, were you able to get it eating?

looks like a longfin to me.

and the problem isnt getting moorish idols to eat ime there greedy pigs that can outcompete most other fish for food, they however just seem to die for no apparent reason ...

o and liking the tank alex, will look good filled with corals :)

HI alex

that crap that you losed your whimple fish

whats new in your aquarium

keep the pics comming

Thats a really nice tank, the aquascaping looks great

Thanks guys. Its come on a little more since that picture was taken back in November. One of my little Humbugs died, I have no idea why, just vanished. I added a chalk goby and within 24 hours he vanished too. That was back in December.

I have added a few more corals in over the past few months, a toad stool mushroom that has grown a little and is doing great. My pussey coral (as shown in pic above) has doubled in size, its looked great :). My Blue sponge has grown very well, but for the past 2 months I have had a serious problem with cynobacteria, and I think it has smothered the sponge resulting in no more growth and some parts deteriorating. 2 weeks ago I added some pulsing xiena. I was really looking forward to getting this coral. I searched all my local fish shops and waited for months to find the right specimin. since being in my tank, its doubled in size (bought as a frag) and has multiplied with noticeable progress. I am super happy that this coral is doing ok in my system :).

I also added a third Humbug Damsel back into my tank in January. I really like these little fish. They are the only 3 fish in my 250L, and each are only 1or2cm long each!

Let me take an updated picture, im still fascinated by my reef.
