will the clown loach out grow this size tank? and think they like groups not sure though as i'm still learning

yea the Loach will out grow the tank in a few years and they do like groups of 5-6.

Really? I knew I needed to get him some friends, but I didn't know he would outgrow the tank. The lady I bought the tank and fish from had these fish for years. What size tank do they need? Thanks.

if shes had them for years chances are they're already stunted and wont grow anymore. they should be nearly a foot long at adult size, however long it takes to get full size.

clown loaches will outgrow a 55g and yep they should be kept in groups , but it takes clown loaches a long time to reach that kind of size . the bichir may be unsuitable too depending on the species altho im not that up on bichirs , may be a good idea to post the pic in the oddballs section for an id .

Thanks for the help. I am pretty sure we have an ornate Bichir, based on pics I have seen. I hate to do it, but maybe it would be best to sell the Bichir and the loach. Do you think a pet store might take them off my hands?

the clown loach would be best off moved on as it needs to be kept with other clown loaches and long term your tank couldnt house them . as for the bichir im not going to try and offer advice there as ive had very little experience of them . the people in the oddball section will be much more help there . all i do know for a fact is that they are escape artists
