Pics of my ADFs!

How cute! Very nice looking tank too!

Appreciate you sharing. I'll have to get a digital camera and share some pictures of my new frogs too :)

Thanks! I like them very very much and I just hope and pray that they stay alive. I'm totally paranoid that I'm going to kill them. I'm a total newbie at this kind of stuff and this is my first attempt. /me crosses her fingers

Yay ToWnPrEp!!

I'm excited for your frogs:) I went and got the 30l tank i won on ebay today so i just need to set it up for some frogs of my very own! How have you found feeding them so far? are they as cool as you hoped?? :D

Well, as for feeding, I've had a difficult time coming up with what I should do. I bought frozen brine shrimp (they were out of blood worms) and I gave them one of those cubes last night after letting it thaw in water and draining it. I think maybe it was too many but I don't know. Was it? They searched for the food themselves so I didn't have to shoot it at them which is nice.

They are definitely as kewl as I had hoped I just really hope I don't kill them accidently. So far everything has been fine but we will see.

If you are having problems getting the food you want you could have a look at this website to search for more fish stockists in your area, maybe somewhere else will have a better supply? (plus you can look at more exciting fish and frogs!)

You sound like you are doing everything you can to keep them happy and healthy :D

Edit: I feed 20 fish (35" total) on 1/2 a block of frozen food and usually still have some that doesnt get eaten so a whole block for two frogs seems a little excessive... try cutting the block while its still frozen and just defrost a small amount at a time :)

Ahh ok I'll try that. Maybe half a block? Or a little less than that? I won't feed them tonight in fear of over feeding them, considering I gave them a whole block yesterday. Then tomorrow I'll feed them again. But half a block or like a 1/4?

try cutting the block into 8ths, defrosting it and squirting the food close to the frogs, anything they dont eat within a few minutes is too much so you will know to use a little less next time. :)

Edit: and of course if they wolf all the food down in 10 seconds then you know you can give them a little more next time till you get the balance right :)

That's great advice! I'll try that tomorrow and see how that goes. :)

hi there,

Very nice! I love those little guys, I bought a tank about a month ago (5 gal) and was intending to set it up and then add some frogs. On a trip to get some plants I came across a certain lionhead (Squishy- who can be seen to the left providing I've figured out the photo thing) who was so cute, sounds sad I know, but he seemed kinda lonely and getting bullied so I rescued him back to his new home. Another lion head my flat mate chose (pudge) has been bullying him though, he's moving out into a new tank soon. Hopefully squishy will perk up a bit.

I was wondering if squishy would mind some frog companions, I posted up a question yesterday. I cant afford to get a new tank, and since I bought this one for the purpose of frogs I seem to have shot myself in the foot by adding squishy - but I'm very attached to him so nevermind! Shall have to save up i guess!

Good luck with the frogs, hope all goes well.

I don't know much about what fish work with ADF's but I'm sure someone will give you advice on that. Personally, I don't see why not. But I know nothing about the sort so dismiss my opinion. :D

I can't shed any light on this question, but I have to admit that when I saw your post (I think it was titled "Would Squishy Like Frogs"), I thought you were asking if one of your pets could eat frogs!!! So, I recoiled in horror and never read the post!!

Hope you do find a good answer though :)

lol!!

Ah, that is perhaps why I've had no reponses!! Oh dear, I wonder how many other people have thought I was going to feed frogs to my other pets (I'm sure my dog wouldn't say no, he's been fascinated with the fish tank since I got it!) Hmmm, perhaps I shall change the title of my post as I really do wanna know ...would squishy like some frogs!!!?
