A very difficult fish to photograph:

She's about 2 1/2". So I guess she'll just get fatter before giving birth. She seems pretty active and happy right now so I'm not sure she'll be giving birth anytime soon.

Any estimates/predictions on when she'll give birth? :)

I like... wish you could get guppies like that up here! Isn't it typical, the only true snakeskin female I have ever seen at the LFS is looking sick. I didn't buy her, I want to see whether she recovers or not.

Hard to know - I'm new to guppies, but my guess would be around two weeks. Her shape isn't too pregnant but her gravid spot is dark. It's a better indicator with guppies than others, but not 100% reliable.

About 2 weeks- early 3 weeks stage.. keep a eye on her after a week or so..

Do not go by the dark gravid spot, especially with guppies and endlers as they can have this dark gravid spot pregnant or not.. to many are still misslead by the gravid spot..

The best way to tell is by her belly, when it squares off, thats usually when she will be ready to drop..

Here is a pic of what to look for..

Hmmm, I got this out of an aquarium specialty store. Luckily I live in a large metropolitan city.

She came along with this guy:

Also, the mother's gravid spot is very dark and black. I think she can only get bigger before the babies arrive.

Always been confused what it means when a belly squares off. The pic above shows a round belly, but I'm not too experienced at analyzing live bearers.

Hmmm just than 3 days later she gave birth to 14 fry and one that didn't unroll.

Pics to follow :)

Congrats :)

Is that all she had? if so no wonder she wasnt very big :) she must be young..

You're lucky actually. She does sound young with a drop that size - she'll be spraying fry for years.
You people with specialist stores are so @#%$ing lucky. It frustrates me no end that I can't get half the fish I want.
