i dunno if its true, but jeffery kurtz says that they dont digest it and they poop it back out in undigested goop and slime that isnt good for water quality.
 
i know but the slime that it uses to coat it can be pretty bad for the tank. At least thats what he said.
 
Yes, I agree. I watch the anemone when feeding to make sure I don't have to remove any chunks from the tank. Though I might have blown it; I forgot the heater unplugged after cleaning the skimmer today and the temperature plummetted to 68 degrees. Most of the corals closed, but the anemone was already collapsing (comparable to the shedding process of leather corals), so hopefully it won't be affected. Is beginning to reinflate.
