He He.. Its no good... I just can t help myself.. We've not even setup the 35gal yet and i've bought another one!

This one is getting setup now though. (as it wont need to move for the building work)

Its a Fluval Duo 800 (800mmx400x350) its about 30 US gals.

Spend the day cleaning and getting it ready...

Going for a blue background on this one - doing it with paint this time and even with 1 coat it looks great. No more water marks for me (just hope I like Blue!!)

Washed 2 bags of play sand.

Tomorrow the background will get another coat and we'll set it up :)

It'll be a smaller version of the 35 as the sand and stones are going to be the same

Just need to tidy the side in the office for this one :)

Hi smithrc :)

Good for you! You'll enjoy your new tank, I'm sure. :D

What kind of paint are you using for the back of the tank. I like that idea and hope you post how it turns out.

Hi, you mention play sand. do you mean silver sand that most people put in sandpits for their kids?

yep... reccomended by loads of people on here... £2.49 for 15kg from argos :)

I'll take some pics in a bit for you all :)

I've just given the tank a 2nd coat and it looks great.

The paint is a water based gloss from wickes £4.99 for 750ml
Barely used any so loads of tanks can be done for just 4.99 :)

Now there's an excuse I haven't used to get more aquariums-
"... but I have extra paint left over! " :D

Will be great to see pics. Looking forward to 'em.

Not quite the same but I just bought a few plants of ebay... :)

ebay rules - gets quite expensive... I may have ANOTHER tank in a couple of hours :)

Anyway the new tank plans just got put on hold..... the place i was going to put it dosn't seem too happy holding just my weight :( I'll have to take it apart and reinforce it... but its halted the setup for a while :(

Pics so far...

Its 'Plumb Slate' and is a great purple colour when its wet :kana:

We will have 2 tanks setup with the sand and slate combination.

Looks as if it will be (is?) a beautiful settup.
Congrats!
