Picked Up My 180 Gallon Today! 6x2x2

Well I got the stand in my room today by myself. I had to drag our old couch over to the tank and put some 2x3s on across it, hammer some wooden shims under the tank to lift it and slowly inch by inch move the tank over to the couch.

Also installed one steel post under the floor. I have 1 more to do and I also have to install a 4x4 post on the wall under my room to help support the weight as well.

It can see another month and a half or so before its running with fish. Still need to make the styro background and by the Titan Heater.

Im so excited!!! I can't freeekin wait!!

I bought more bio media for the Fx5 a couple weeks ago and put that in so bacteria can grow on the media so I don't have to really cycle the tank too much.

Got the tank in my room yesterday FINALLY!

Here are two good pictures of it.

Thanks! It will be probubly september or longer before I put fish in the tank. I may fill it and get it running with a filter but other than that I still need to buy lighting for it and a nice Tunze power head but I got 4 bills I want to pay off before I do that.

The floor is reinforced by to adjustable steel posts which are sitting on granite and concrete. I raised the floor about a 1/2" in the front left and only support the front right. The rear is pretty well supported underneith but the 200+ year old framing is a little weaker now so I cut out a section of old framing and added my own 6x6 post on the wall to help transfer the weight more.

The floor seems real solid. Before it was bouncy and my 55 Gallon actually lowered that portion of the floor about 1/2" and when I moved the 55 gallon it raised back up. The 180 Gal I would have to say probubly weighs just as much as the 55 with water and the floor is still where it was before and has no sunk .....yet..

As I fill it I may need to adjust the steel post some more as their rock/concret base settles into the ground.

Im looking into the glass scratch repair kits because now that I cleaned the glass inside and out, it looks as though the original owner used steel woll or a wirebrush to clean the glass and scratch the #### out of it everywhere. There is not one sq in that is not scratched. He said that there are a few scratches...... I couldn't see them when I picked it up because there was algae all over the place which hid everything. Really sucks but I hope I can find something to repair it with.

I have been throwing up the idea of replacing the front glass with Starfire.
