pic of little puffer

the majority of the snails in my tank are just as big as my puffer so i dont anticipate having to restock them anytime soon.
Yes indeed, my fearsome foresome kill & eat ramshorn snails twice their size within hours of introducing the snails, but they prefer the smaller ones which they pull from their shells and swallow whole.

Dwarf puffers have no concept of size... I put my big gold snail in with my puffer...the snail was about the size of a quarter, so I thought the puffer wouldn't bother it. WRONG! She would stalk it, and take little chunks out of it. So the snail had to be moved.

I keep my puffers (5 of the little buggers) with bottom dwelling fish (kuhlis and plecos). They seem to leave them alone. I did have them in with some feeder guppies for a while (actually hoping that they would eat the guppies) and they tried but could not catch the skiddish guppies. Also, they don't seem to like to go into caves, so any fish that stays in a cave should be fine with the dwarfs. Enjoy!
