Photosynthetic Or Plankon Eating Corals.

I'm pretty sure their all photosynthetic. But that doesn't mean they can't eat other foods.

zoas eat foods, think oyster eggs and brine shrimp size (oyster eggs much more nutritious), zenia dont nor GSP, both grow amazingly fast without food anyway, hammer eats, im pretty sure they can be target fed larger particles, think mysis and cut up squid.

All are photosynthetic and non NEED food.

so they dont need planktons of any.

remember, feather dusters arent corals, and they need food since they are not photosynthetic, and there food doesnt come cheap.

care to elaborate what DTS is? Do you mean dt's phytoplankton?

i find reef mariculture better, more varieties of phytoplankton as well as including diatomic phytoplankton which feeds copepods.

xenia - no need to direct feed
zoas - no need to direct feed - slowly aclimate to high light and you will get monster growth
hammer coral - will take direct feed... but watch to see if they are just spitting it out - no need for direct feed
green star polyps - try killing it, I dare you - no need for direct feed... but fun :)

Feather dusters - you have fish right? no need for direct feed. These guys eat very small particals.

Most of the corals really eat bacteria as their staple, as I understand it.

Feather dusters can survive without direct feed. Everytime you do a water change, just stir up the sand bed (assuming you have 1) near the duster and as dusters are filter feeders, they will just syphon the stirred up water and eat any floating particles worth eating! I have a few and do this and have never had to feed them directly and they seem to be doing just fine! :good:
